By the end of the package you will be confident running a training and behaviour practice that can take on pet training cases, structured puppy work and a defined behaviour caseload, while presenting a credible profile to owners, vets and referral partners.

TYPICAL STUDY ROUTE AND COURSE LENGTH
Most learners follow a clear route through the package, for example:
- Begin with the Level 5 Diploma in Canine Training and Instruction to establish a strong professional training foundation
- Add the Level 3 Puppy Training, Canine First Aid and Canine Nutrition certificates to strengthen your work with young dogs, safety and day to day welfare
- Take the Level 4 Professional Dog Walking course to formalise any walking and training walk services you offer
- Progress to the Level 6 Diploma in Canine Behaviour Practice once you are confident with training and ready to take on a structured behaviour caseload
As a guide, many learners complete the Level 5 Diploma within 8 to 12 weeks alongside other commitments, and the Level 6 Diploma within 6 to 8 weeks once they are working with cases. The Level 3 and Level 4 courses can be completed in shorter blocks around this core route. You normally have up to 12 months of access for each course, allowing you to build your full trainer and behaviour pathway over a flexible time frame.
As part of the Level 5 Diploma within this package, you can choose how to complete your final practical assessment: either through a structured video-based assessment completed in your own environment, or by attending a two-day practical workshop and assessment at The Kennel Club, Stoneleigh. The Kennel Club option gives you the chance to train and be assessed in a nationally recognised canine venue, alongside experienced IICBT tutors and other committed trainers.
You will qualify with all six IICBT awards listed above. This includes the right to use the titles IICBT Master Dog Trainer (IICBT MDT), IICBT Professional Dog Walker, IICBT Puppy Training Specialist, IICBT Canine First Aider, IICBT Canine Nutrition Specialist and IICBT Canine Behaviour Practitioner (IICBT CBP) in line with IICBT brand guidelines. The Level 5 and Level 6 Diplomas are recognised through the iPET Network Professional Development Recognition (PDR) scheme, providing external assurance of structure and quality.

Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package
Dog Trainer Package
The UK’s #1 training provider for canine behaviour and training
With long standing expertise in developing high quality canine professionals, we understand what it takes to succeed in a competitive, fast growing field. We train dog trainers and behaviour practitioners who are more employable, better prepared for real cases, confident with clients, and committed to ethical, evidence based practice.
If you are new to the industry, our Level 5 Diploma in Canine Training and Instruction is the place to begin. It is recognised as a clear benchmark for those entering professional practice and gives you the skills to train dogs safely, design structured training plans and work effectively with owners.
If you are an experienced trainer aiming to move into complex behaviour work, our Level 6 Diploma in Canine Behaviour Practice builds on that foundation. You will develop advanced skills in behavioural assessment, case formulation, risk management and working closely with veterinary teams.
You can also strengthen your profile with focused short courses in areas such as puppy training, first aid and nutrition. These programmes help you deepen knowledge, refine your practice and stay current with sector expectations.
Step 1. Download The Prospectus
Start by downloading the IICBT Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package prospectus. You will see how the Level 5, Level 4 and Level 3 courses lead into the Level 6 behaviour qualification, how long each stage typically takes and the kinds of services and income this full pathway can support. You get a clear picture of the whole route before you commit.
Step 2. Talk to an IICBT Adviser
Next, you speak with an adviser who specialises in long term trainer and behaviour careers. They will look at your current experience, where you want to be in one to three years, what is stopping you and how quickly you want to move. Together you map out your full pathway, from Master Dog Trainer through walking, puppy, first aid and nutrition to Level 6 behaviour practice. You discuss fast track or steady options, explore payment plans and, if it fits, build a Behaviour Practitioner Package around your goals and budget.
Step 3. Get Enrolled and set Up in Your Portal
If you decide to enrol, your adviser completes the process with you and walks you through your complete trainer and behaviour route inside the portal. You see how your Level 5 and Level 6 Diplomas connect with the walking, puppy, first aid and nutrition courses, where to find each set of lessons and tools, and how to get tutor support on both training and behaviour questions. You finish the call with a clear plan for your first stages, not just the next week.
Step 4. Study, Complete Assessment, Get Qualified
You then work through the package in smart stages. Most learners complete the Level 5 Diploma first, add the Level 3 and Level 4 courses to broaden their services and income, then progress to the Level 6 Diploma in Canine Behaviour Practice once they have a solid training base and active cases. At each stage you pass focused assessments, gain new qualifications and move closer to your goal of being a recognised Canine Behaviour Practitioner.
Step 5. Start or Grow Your Business With Our Support
Once qualified, you can offer far more than basic training sessions. You have a full pathway of services, from puppy work and pet training to structured behaviour packages, supported by walking, first aid and nutrition skills. You can charge premium fees for behaviour work, build strong referral routes with vets and rescues and design a business that blends in person and remote services. With IICBT templates, mentorship and progression options behind you, you are not guessing your way forward, you are growing a serious training and behaviour practice with clear income and lifestyle potential.

Independent, outcomes-led standards for canine training and behaviour, designed to prepare you for real work with dogs and owners.
Fast Track Routes
Move quickly if you’re ready, or pace your study around work and family. We show you exactly how to get qualified, not just “work through the content”.
Practical Workshops
Train in person at places owners recognise, including The Kennel Club at Stoneleigh and partner centres across the UK, not just in a village hall.
Unlimited tutor Access
Ask questions as often as you need. You get direct access to practising trainers and behaviour specialists, not a ticket system and stock replies.
Study From Anywhere
Log in, watch lessons, download templates and keep going. All core teaching lives online so you can build your new career from your sofa, not a classroom.
Support to Build a Business
We talk pricing, services, marketing and client handling, so you leave with a plan to earn from your skills, not just a certificate for the wall.
Training People Trust
Your courses are backed by an independent institute and recognised through the iPET Network PDR scheme, giving you something credible to show vets, employers and clients.
The Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package is your route into some of the highest value work in the pet industry. Instead of only selling basic training or short walks, you can offer full behaviour packages that include assessment, written plans and structured follow up, backed up by solid training, walking, puppy, first aid and nutrition credentials.
Many behaviour practitioners routinely charge £250 to £500 or more for a core package. If you charged £300 per case and worked with just two new behaviour clients per week alongside training, that is around £600 per week in behaviour fees alone, more than £30,000 per year before you factor in classes, one to one training, walking and puppy work. With a full time caseload, strong vet and rescue referrals and a mix of in person and remote cases, it is realistic to work towards £60,000 to £80,000 per year or more.
The Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package is designed to move you into that higher bracket and keep you there. By combining Master Dog Trainer, professional walking, puppy, first aid, nutrition and Level 6 behaviour qualifications, you can present layered services and premium packages that justify higher fees, attract more serious clients and give you far more control over your time and income than a typical job ever could.

Pay your full course fee at enrolment and save 20% compared with the standard payment plan price.
What if I am still quite new and the full behaviour pathway feels like a big leap?
You do not have to be an expert to start. The package is designed to take you from solid training foundations at Level 5 through to rescue or general behaviour work at Level 6, with walking, puppy, first aid and nutrition alongside. You build step by step, rather than jumping straight into complex cases before you are ready.
Do I have to stop my current job or business to commit to the full package?
No. Most learners move through the package over time, fitting each course around existing work and family life. You can start earning from training, walking and puppy work long before you reach the behaviour stage. Your adviser will help you map out a realistic plan that fits your income needs and how quickly you want to move into behaviour.
How long will it take me to start earning at “behaviour level” from this package?
You can usually start taking paid training clients once you are part way through Level 5, and then begin offering defined behaviour packages after you have completed the core Level 6 behaviour course. On your call, your adviser will talk through where you are now, how fast you want to progress and when it makes sense to introduce assessment and behaviour plans.
I have collected various dog training certificates already. Why do I need a full pathway?
Random certificates can look busy without telling owners, vets or rescues what you actually do. The Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package is built as one coherent route so your titles, services and skills match. It moves you from “has done lots of dog courses” to “is a clear choice for training and behaviour referrals”.
What if I get overwhelmed juggling training, behaviour and business decisions?
That is exactly why the package includes structure, not just content. You get a recommended order, templates and support so you know what to focus on at each stage. If you hit a wobble with study, clients or a tricky case, you can ask for help rather than trying to untangle everything on your own.
What happens once I complete the Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package?
You can present yourself as an IICBT Master Dog Trainer and IICBT Canine Behaviour Practitioner, with additional walking, puppy, first aid and nutrition credentials. That puts you in a strong position for vet and rescue referrals, higher value behaviour packages and a blended caseload that includes training, puppy work, walking and behaviour support.
Do you offer payment plans for the full package, or do I have to pay everything upfront?
You do not have to fund the entire pathway in one go. On your call, your adviser will explain the package fee, how access works and the payment options available. The aim is to line up payments with the stages where you start earning more, so the package helps grow your income rather than simply draining it.
I have tried other courses before. Why should I trust IICBT with my full pathway?
A lot of providers are great at selling individual courses but give you no clear route from “interested in dogs” to credible behaviour practitioner. The IICBT Canine Behaviour Practitioner Package is built as that route. It takes you step by step from solid training foundations into advanced behaviour work, with joined up content, recognised titles and business-focused support. Instead of collecting random certificates, you build one coherent profile that owners, vets and rescues can understand and feel confident referring to.
